ādara® begins as a staple fiber. From there, it can be spun into yarns, blended with other fibers, engineered into different yarn constructions, woven into fabrics, developed for flooring, or formed directly into nonwovens.

The opportunity is not one finished material. It is a new fiber input for existing textile manufacturing.

Engineered for spinning

ādara® is developed to work with established natural fiber processing and spinning technologies. Its staple format creates freedom to adjust fiber blends, yarn count, twist, ply, colour, structure and finishing according to the requirements of the final application.

Comparable to high-micron wool, so it runs on existing natural fiber preparation lines without re-tooling.

Keratin's helical structure gives the staple enough tenacity to survive carding, drafting and spinning.

Undyed natural tones plus a dyed palette; colour can be introduced at the fiber stage. 

Blends are engineered per application — handle, strength, appearance and cost shift with the ratio.

Validated across several technologies, each producing a different material.

A finer yarn can create lighter textile constructions. A heavier yarn can build texture and volume. Different blends can modify handle, strength, appearance, cost and performance.

This gives manufacturers and designers a much wider development space than a single predetermined sheet material.

Staple fiber makes material engineering possible before the textile is even produced. ādara® can be combined with other fibers to create blends tailored to different manufacturing requirements and applications.

Yarn construction then creates another set of variables — yarn count, twist level, number of plies, colour combinations and surface character. One fiber can therefore become many different textile materials.

Felt is one route. Yarn opens many more.

Nonwoven felt allows ādara® to move directly from fiber into a finished textile surface. Spinning adds another level of possibility.

Once transformed into yarn, the same fiber can enter a much larger range of textile manufacturing processes and material constructions.
