Zsofia Kollar Speaks at ChangeNOW 2025 in Paris

Human Material Loop founder and CEO Zsofia Kollar took the stage at ChangeNOW 2025 in Paris, speaking about our relationship with textiles, the systems behind the materials we use, and the courage required to change them.
ChangeNOW is one of the world's largest gatherings dedicated to solutions for the planet. Held at the Grand Palais in Paris, its 2025 edition brought together 40,000 participants, 10,000 businesses and 1,200 investors from 140 countries.
In her keynote, Zsofia began with something deceptively simple: a single fiber. A filament can become yarn, fabric, clothing, protection, expression and even technological progress. Yet behind the materials surrounding us are systems of resources, labor, water, energy and extraction that are often invisible.
Her talk asked what happens when we change the way we see those resources.
Human hair grows continuously, is cut, and is largely discarded. Human Material Loop sees it differently. Through ādara®, we transform this biological resource into high-performance keratin fibers that can enter existing textile manufacturing systems.
But the keynote went beyond one material. It was a call for collective courage. New materials alone cannot transform an industry. Scientists, designers, manufacturers, investors, policymakers and consumers all have a role in creating the conditions for them to succeed.
We need next-generation materials, not as a trend or marketing line, but as a necessity.
The choice is whether we embrace the discomfort that comes with radical innovation today, or face the much greater consequences of remaining still.
Transformation, collaboration and reverence. It starts now.
