Rina Arya is a Professor of Critical and Cultural Theory and Head of the School of the Arts at the University of Hull. She is the author of books about a variety of subjects including Francis Bacon, abjection and art and religion, recent work focuses on decolonising and cultural appropriation. Her recent book is Journey to the Centre of the Self, co-authored with Dinesh Bhugra in 2024 (Cambridge University Press). Her next book is Reclaiming the Debate of Cultural Appropriation (forthcoming with Sage).
