The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other medical conditions. Established in 2006, the charity has supplied over 8,000 wigs and invested around £5 million into pioneering childhood cancer research. The trust relies on generous hair donations and fundraising to create and fit its high-quality wigs. The minimum hair length they can accept is 7 inches (17 cm), but since they currently have enough stock of hair between 7 and 11 inches, they encourage supporters to donate hair that measures 12 inches or longer. Excessive donations of shorter hair could lead to increased storage costs, so the charity prefers to allocate resources toward providing wigs and funding vital cancer research. Through their work, the Little Princess Trust helps young people regain confidence and feel more like themselves.
