Malwina Chabocka

Malwina Chabocka is an artist based in The Hague, Netherlands. She holds a BA in Theatre: Design for Performance from Central Saint Martins in London and an MA in Stage Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. After working across various disciplines, including theatre, opera, and graphic design, she returned to painting in 2018 and has since exhibited in the UK, Portugal, Poland, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. Chabocka’s work explores the connection between the body and the psyche, focusing on how emotional and cognitive experiences manifest physically. Her paintings often obscure faces, using hair as a symbolic and expressive element. Inspired by Freudian concepts and her background in physical theatre, her work invites viewers to explore hidden desires, repressed feelings, and the tension between instinct and rationality.
