Mariia Lysenko is a self-taught artist who lived in London for four years, where she explored various artistic expressions. She has participated in several exhibitions in London and performed at Slam Jam in Milan. Her work focuses on personal experiences, particularly in how appearance and perception are intertwined with psychological transformation. Her most recent project, Blondie Chair, is a limited edition functional art object created in her London studio. The piece blends synthetic materials like artificial hair and nail extensions with natural hand-shapeable materials such as clay, fabric, and Papier-mâché. Through this fusion, she reflects on her journey of overcoming depression and embracing self-acceptance, using appearance as a metaphor for psychological change.
