Geny Iorio experiments with materials, fabric, and objects, while also recovering and reworking artisanal techniques. She collaborates with various fashion and design companies to create clothing collections and fabric patterns. Iorio teaches textile and fashion design at the Politecnico of Milan, Naba (New Academy of Fine Arts) in Milan, and Ferrari Fashion School. Her work focuses on design experimentation and craftsmanship, including the recovery of traditional bobbin lace techniques, the creative use of classic tools and new materials, and in-depth studies with organic materials, such as the use of artist’s hair since 1993.
