Originally from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, she studied Fine Arts at the School of Fine Arts in Oaxaca, along with illustration and drawing workshops. Her work spans painting, graphics, and textile experimentation with natural hair, intertwining notions of identity, body, and territory. She values artisanal processes where manual execution defines the outcome. Since 2015, she has explored hair as an aesthetic element, beginning with her exhibition “Oficio de Tinieblas,” featuring huipils and fabric dresses adorned with her own hair. Her work reflects self-knowledge, illness, the fragility of the body, and the passage of time, evolving into a broader exploration of identity, memory, language, and lost territory. Her most recent work includes direct hair printing on paper to create an artist’s book.
