Lilli Malou Weinhold

Lilli Malou Weinhold is a designer from Germany, currently based in Düsseldorf. Having recently completed her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design at the Folkwang University of Arts, she is deeply inspired by the lasting relevance of past traditions and customs. Her work focuses on revitalizing these overlooked practices, offering a fresh perspective that aligns with modern sensibilities. In 2022, she created Human Resources, an immersive installation exploring human hair as a material for the future. The project incorporates hair into wearable and touchable objects, while providing anonymized information about its origin and donor. The Human Resources Archive invites visitors to learn more about these donations, encouraging reflection on the personal and cultural significance of hair. A central mirror adorned with hair-embedded tiles serves as a striking focal point, complemented by four pedestals displaying hair-based objects. Designed to spark curiosity and dialogue, the installation offers an interactive experience that reimagines hair as a meaningful resource.
