Pamela Christine Kleemann-Passi is a multidisciplinary artist working across documentary, creative photography, sculpture, textiles, and installation, exploring themes of social and environmental issues as well as body and identity. Her practice incorporates gentle humor and irony to provoke challenging conversations. Her work has appeared in diverse formats, including hospital beds, vinyl LPs, and product ranges, and has been served in public spaces like cafés and banquet feasts. Recent projects focus on the impact of illness on the body, the wonder of medical science, and researching human hair as a sustainable material. Pamela has exhibited in Australia and New York, undertaken artist residencies, and co-founded Art-Science-Alliance Inc. Her Masters work, “Splitting Hairs,” investigated responses to hair, leading to the creation of “Hairball Cafe.” Recent collaborations include the “Mo-Hair Suit” for Movember and “Crowning Glory,” a range of hairy beachwear. She continues to explore hair’s potential as a sustainable resource for various industries.
