Maria Sandhaus Rapoport is a commercial graphic designer and visual artist who embraces creative freedom beyond the boundaries of client work. Passionate about fusing aesthetics with deeper meaning, she creates visuals that captivate, intrigue, and provoke thought. In her personal practice, Maria collects photographs of her fallen hair, drawn to the elegant lines and curves they form, minimalist and almost calligraphic, like delicate linear drawings. Yet, the quiet beauty of these forms contrasts with a subtle unease: each strand was once part of a living body. Through this work, Maria explores the tension between the ephemeral and the physical, beauty and discomfort, presence and absence.
